Role Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic music teacher who will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing a comprehensive music curriculum per Cambridge International standards. The candidate will inspire a love for music among students and integrate music education into the broader curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a music curriculum aligned with the Cambridge International standards and the school’s educational philosophy.
  • Teach music theory, history, and practical musicianship to students from primary through secondary levels.
  • Plan and prepare lessons that are creative, engaging, and cater to a range of learning abilities.
  • Organize and lead music ensembles, choirs, and performances, both within the school and for external events.
  • Collaborate with other subject teachers to incorporate music into interdisciplinary projects and school events.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback in line with Cambridge assessment standards.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to explore and develop their musical skills.
  • Participate in school functions, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Music or a related field. A teaching qualification recognized by Cambridge International is preferred.
  • Experience teaching music in a school setting, preferably in a Cambridge or international curriculum school.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of musical instruments and styles.
  • Strong understanding of music theory, composition, and performance.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students.
  • Experience in organizing music performances and events.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to fostering the holistic development of students.

Desirable:

  • Experience in implementing music technology in teaching.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities.
  • A passion for developing a new music program from its inception.
