GEM Institute held the first Girl-Tech Talk Conference in celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child. International Day of the Girl Child is celebrated on the 11 October every year. The theme of the conference was Girls In Technology,Empowerment, Innovation and the 4th Industrial Revolution Empowering Girls For a Better Future. ten girls from Soofia International School attended the conference.
The girls exhibited their projects which are based on automation. They also got an opportunity to meet girls from other schools around Lesotho, interact with them and
share ideas.
The CEO of ECOL Dr Litsabako Ntoi shared with them her story as a woman in Science,the challenges and opportunities
available for girls in STEAM (Science,Technology,Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) She further encouraged the girls to show commitment and be focused on the goal.
Soofia International School is thankful for the invitation,and looks forward to seeing more girls participating and joining STEAM subjects and activities.The girls shall share what their experience with other and be innovative creatives.
